Pamplona, 1970. He accomplished his musical education at the Conservatory Pablo Sarasate of Pamplona and the Conservatory of Bayonne, finishing his studies with the highest qualifications and gold medal respectively, in both the specialities of oboe and chamber music.

In 1994, he founded the Rerum Novarum Trio offering concerts mainly in Spain.

In 1995 and 1996, after public competition, he obtained  the position of professor of oboe at the School of Music of Barañain and official oboe position at the Concert Band of the City of Pamplona, La Pamplonesa. In 1997, he obtained the position of professor of oboe at the School of Music Joaquín Maya of Pamplona, introducing oboe studies for the first time in this school and carrying his teaching duties equally in Peralta and Berriozar (Navarra, Spain).

In 1997, he joined the Youth Orchestra of Euskadi and starts collaborations with the Navarra Symphonic Orchestra and the Côte Basque Orchestra of Bayonne. 

Founder and musical director of the Music Workshop Sine Nomine since 1988 until 2003, together with this vocal ensemble, he reached outstanding achievements in several national and international competitions, notably Rodas (2001), Arezzo (2002), as well as the Permanent Competition of Music Youth of Spain. During the years 2001 to 2003 he also conducted the chamber choir Coral de Cámara de Pamplona.

From October 1998 and June 2003, he conducted Coral Barañain, offering concerts in Estella, Zumaya, Bayona, Pamplona, Tolosa, Sabadell, etc. During these years with this choral ensemble, he won several prizes. The Special Award for the best performance of a compulsory piece and the Third Prize in the XIII Choral Festival of Autol, (Festival de Masas Corales de Autol, La Rioja, Spain), in June 2000. In December 2001 came the First Prize in the XXVI Christmas Carol Competition of Beriain, (Concurso de Villancicos de Beriain, Navarra, Spain) and in May 2002 the First Prize in the IV Choral Competition of Arrigorriaga (Certamen Coral de Arrigorriaga, Vizcaya, Spain).

After nearly two years of absence, in January 2005 he took back the direction of Coral Barañain and that same year, he began to work as professor of oboe in the Conservatory Pablo Sarasate of Pamplona, where he currently carries his teaching duties.

In this second stage as musical director of Coral Barañain, he has conducted this navarrese group in a special Mass in St. Peter’s in the Vatican, and he has obtained many awards and prizes in different competitions, such as the First Prize and Axuntábense Special Award to the best performance of a regional music piece at the VIII International Contest La Mina y la Mar Villa de la Felguera, in Asturias, Spain. In November 2008, the Second Prize and “Rosa María Tarruell” Special Award of the XXV International Choral Contest Villa de Avilés, Asturias, Spain, and in October 2009, the First Prize of the VIII National Choral Competition Antonio José, in Burgos, Spain.

In 2011 came one of the most important achievements as director of Coral Barañain: the First Prize and the Special Award to the best performance of a composition by Tomás Garbizu, "El eco de una habanera”, in La Antigua, in Zumárraga, which gave the group the opportunity to represent this contest in the final series of the National Choral Grand Prix in 2012.

More recently, in 2016 he participated in Choral Competition of Ejea de los Caballeros, receiving the award to the Best Choir Conductor, a prize that was presented for the first time in the history of this veteran Spanish contest.
